APPROACH

Mooods Studio focuses on creating unique spatial solutions with a high emphasis on preserving and promoting the Genius Loci. This approach is applied across a range of project scales, from urban interventions to interior detailing. We strive to find a unique story in each concept, because we know that emotions connect with stories and not things. We create original atmospheres that are special to each project. We are big advocates of reusing buildings and think about whether it makes sense to preserve a small fragment, a whole building or an entire space. Another specific approach of our studio is to connect spaces and functional units to create mixed-use spaces.

APPROACH
From urbanism to interior design

From urbanism to interior design

Mooods takes a holistic approach to the design of space, taking into account all aspects of the space, from urban planning to interior design. We strive for a logical and coherent connection between urban and architectural solutions, creating rational and thoughtful designs that respect the surrounding environment. In addition, we strive to create high quality public spaces that are accessible to everyone and defined by the buildings that surround them. We pay particular attention to the intermediate spaces that are created between these buildings and design them to be useful and pleasant for users. Finally, we carefully consider every detail of the interior and exterior design so that they serve their purpose well and efficiently.

Genius loci

Mooods Studio seeks to understand the original context of the environment as best as possible in order to design an appropriate approach and take into account the Genius Loci. We are pragmatic and logical in creating thoughtful and rational concepts for the whole environment. We strive to enhance the environment and show its potential and possibilities by keeping what works and adding new elements to enhance it. The aim of our approach is to create a harmonious space that is respectful of its surroundings and pleasant for its users.

Finding stories

Finding stories

In our studio, we strive to find unique stories for every project we get. Our priority is to understand the surroundings and the genius loci in order to build an authentic and consistent story for the project. While we usually stick to stories based on a good understanding of the environment, we are not afraid to make radical changes and create counter-stories if the project requires it. Our stories are inspired by client communication and project development, and in the final stage we try to connect the stories of the people who will be using the space or object.

Moods - feelings

In every single project, we try to capture atmospheres that evoke certain moods, feelings or emotions in users. The atmosphere we want to achieve depends on the feeling we want to evoke in a given space. We create each and every project with an emphasis on the emotional connection that will remain in the memory of its users. Of course, we create a different atmosphere in commemorative buildings than we do in single-family homes or in the interiors of apartments and houses. This atmosphere directly influences the kind of feeling we want to create in a given space.

preserve - dont preserve

preserve - dont preserve

Atelier Mooods aims to preserve the values that were created by our ancestors, but also takes into account economic factors. It is important to distinguish between what should be preserved for its historical significance, whether preservation makes sense, and whether it might be the right economic move. Sometimes something that is still of value to future generations is unnecessarily remediated.

Connecting spaces

We understand the interconnection of spaces as the integration of smaller units into a larger system that is itself functional. We are trying to create a living organism that can function on its own, as long as it is based on a system that consists of small parts that work together. This idea is especially visible when dealing with larger scales of urbanism and public spaces. However, it can also be applied to large-scale developments, such as mixed-use buildings, as well as to ordinary houses.
