Nitrianske HrnčiarovceThe design of the house was strongly influenced by the fact that there is already one family house on the site. The size of the plot in relation to the original house was adequate, but the new building started to change the situation significantly. The basic concept was to create a small, practical house with the investor's basic requirements: a two-storey building, which should take into account the economic aspect of the investment, a flat roof, a terrace, a balcony and a cellar. From these clearly defined requirements, it was clear that the house would look like a simple cube, divided into 2 parts: a day zone and a night zone. The zoning of the house is defined by floors. On the first floor there is the kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom and utility room of the house. Moving to the second floor we reach the night zone, which is dedicated only to the inhabitants of the house. Here we can find the children's room, the parents' bedroom and the main bathroom. The whole building is complemented by an underground floor, which houses a storage room. From the rational division of the house we came up with rooms oriented to the south-west. The living room is also oriented to the south-west, where it opens onto the entire courtyard. The proposed building has a simple longitudinal wall construction system with one transverse stiffening wall. The economic aspect of the building is also noticeable on the façade as white render is chosen with contrasting anthracite textured render. Complementing the exterior is the wood cladding of the terrace in all touching surfaces/walls. The design of the large-scale windows was the plan and the goal from the beginning. On the ground floor, HS portals are placed everywhere so that there is no unwanted threshold between interior and exterior. The windows are aluminium with an anthracite finish. All metal accessories are in anthracite colour. The layout of the house is highly pragmatic and economical. In the future there is a possibility of adaptation and change of layout thanks to the free layout solution. Emphasis was placed on preserving as much land area as possible. The design has maximised the green area and minimised the footprint of the new building. As architects, we feel that we have created a small and compact house that meets the highest standards of living and residential comfort.
